From the opening pages of the book

The Bible does not begin by explaining God. It begins by assuming Him. From its opening line, Scripture presents a God who creates, speaks, and acts with authority. It does not pause to justify His existence or argue for His credibility. It simply proceeds as though God is already there—because, according to Scripture, He is. This matters for how Jesus is understood. The Bible does not introduce Jesus as a late solution to an unexpected problem, nor as a figure disconnected from what came before. When the New Testament speaks of Him, it does so against a backdrop already filled with divine action, promise, and expectation. Jesus does not arrive in isolation. He arrives within a story that has been unfolding from the beginning.

About the Author

Ronnie Lee Hurst writes the According to the Bible series to explore what Scripture actually says about important and often debated subjects. Each study examines the biblical text carefully, allowing passages to be read in context and allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture. The goal is simple: to follow what the Bible itself says.
