Money — According to the Bible

The Bible speaks often about money, wealth, work, generosity, and stewardship. Yet many modern ideas about money come more from tradition, culture, or selective verses than from the whole testimony of Scripture. This study examines what the Bible actually says about wealth and responsibility, allowing passages to be read in context and allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture.

The goal is simple: to see what the Bible itself teaches about money.

From the opening pages of the book

From the opening chapters of Genesis, the Bible speaks openly about resources, value, work, and stewardship. Gold is mentioned early—and called good. Wealth appears long before the Law, long before kings, and long before the warnings that come later. Faithful men like Abraham are described plainly as wealthy, without embarrassment or explanation. At the same time, Scripture consistently warns about misplaced trust, selfish accumulation, and the danger of loving money rather than using it wisely.
