About
Why This Site Exists
This site exists for one purpose: to examine Scripture carefully.
Who I Am (And Who I Am Not)
My name is Ronnie Lee Hurst. I am not a pastor. I am not a scholar. I am a regular Christian who sincerely wants to understand what the Bible actually says about the subjects it addresses.
Over time, I began noticing how often we repeat phrases, positions, or assumptions without slowing down to read the whole counsel of Scripture. Certain topics become defined by a handful of verses, while others are rarely considered in context. That pattern led me to step back and ask a simple question:
What does the entire Bible say about this?
What “According to the Bible” Means
That question shaped the According to the Bible series.
Each study focuses on one subject and examines it by looking at the broader testimony of Scripture — not one verse, not one tradition, not one system, but the full witness of the text as a whole.
This site is not a debate forum. It is not an attempt to win arguments. It is an invitation to read carefully.
The Aim
My hope is simple:
That readers would become more excited about searching Scripture for themselves.
The Bible does not discourage examination. It invites it.
If these studies encourage you to open your Bible and read more carefully — to compare passages, to notice context, to consider the whole — then they have served their purpose.
This site exists to examine Scripture carefully and in context. It is not intended to host public debates or arguments, but to encourage thoughtful reading of the Bible itself.

If you’re new to the site, these studies are a good place to begin:
- What Does the Bible Say About Jesus?
- What Does the Bible Say About Salvation?
- What Does the Bible Say About Wealth?
These articles reflect the approach used throughout the series — examining Scripture carefully, in context, and as a whole.
